Eric Jansen

Host & Executive Producer

Eric Jansen is managing producer and lead host of Out in the Bay, which he birthed in 2004. He is also an announcer and board operator at San Francisco NPR affiliates KQED-FM and KALW. He has served as talk show and news producer, newscaster, reporter and announcer at outlets including KALW, KQED-FM and Minnesota Public Radio. He has won awards for his national and regional news features from the Public Radio News Directors Association, the Northwest Broadcast News Association and the National Lesbian & Gay Journalists Association. He wrote and co-produced the 2007 PBS documentary Why We Sing! about LGBTQ choruses’ role in civil rights and narrated the film festival version. He loves talking with people - on the air and privately - about their life experiences!
